CHA Background:

Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through the implementation of Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with the rehabilitation of rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

  • Responsible for the output of road structure design.
  • Ensure all bridge, culvert, causeways, retaining walls, and protection wall designs are completed to the highest standards, based on the provided initial survey data
  • The preparation of BoQs and technical documentation In collaboration with the Surveyors, lead Engineers, and Road, engineers
  • advise on the appropriate location for bridge/culvert, retaining wall, and protection wall construction by consideration of hydrology study.
  • Review QA/QC site visits and materials testing reports to ensure sampling, testing, and inspection of materials are carried out regularly and works are implemented in compliance with design specifications.
  • Monitor the construction of foundations of bridges and Road structures.
  • Review and endorse any design changes that are processed by the site Engineer.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to subcontractors to ensure that good quality materials are purchased.
  • Monitor the implementation of the works by conducting site visits and guide improvement and good results.

Job Requirements:

Education: 

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Road Engineering

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in relevant field;

 

Technical Skills:

  • Well-knowledge in design, survey, and estimation of projects.
  • Ability in planning and reporting systems.
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken Dari, Pashto, and English languages.
  • Ability to use the computer and have knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Able to work as a part of a team in the field.
