Society Educational Awareness Research Consultancy and Health (SEARCH) Organization is an independent registered non-government and nonprofit civil society organization. SEARCH Organization prime motto is capacity building and services delivery to the deprived and marginalized people of the society. In 2015 a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded youth working in the development sector, got together to establish an organization, for addressing the most urgent and pressing needs of the people of Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

  • Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for children and caregivers, focusing on trauma recovery, emotional well-being, and resilience building.
  • Assess the psychosocial needs of children and develop tailored intervention plans in collaboration with the child and their caregivers.
  • Implement evidence-based MHPSS interventions and activities within the Child Friendly Spaces, ensuring they are culturally sensitive and age-appropriate.
  • Facilitate psychoeducation sessions on topics such as stress management, coping strategies, and child rights.
  • Work closely with community members, local leaders, and other stakeholders to promote community-based psychosocial support initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of MHPSS interventions, collecting data and feedback to inform program improvements.
  • Collaborate with other project staff, including social workers, educators, and healthcare professionals, to provide integrated support services.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of counselling and client interactions.
  • Contribute to the development of MHPSS training materials and capacity-building activities for project staff and volunteers.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications in MHPSS are desirable.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in providing psychosocial support and counselling services, preferably in humanitarian or child protection settings.
  • Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and psychosocial support principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work sensitively with children and caregivers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with community members and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in local languages spoken in the project area is an asset.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and safeguarding principles in all aspects of work.
