Since 2007, HIHAO has been engaged in various development and relief programs with DFID, USAID, EU, SIDA, GIZ, and increasingly, HIHAO expanded its thematic focus incorporating humanitarian response programs with UNOCHA, FSAC, WFP, and UNFAO, following obtaining Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF) eligibility in 2020.

Job Descriptions:

The Field Monitor will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager & M&E Data Officer in collaboration with project management and will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring & reporting of the entire project activities and daily report to the project manager and M&E Data officer. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the entire beneficiary survey, entire project input receiving, Input management, and output level activities in coordination with the project manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the entire project field activities regularly and report to the M&E data officer and/or Project Manager on defined formats/indicators.
  • Conduct physical monitoring visits to the field interventions and share findings.
  • Support the M&E data officer in collecting data on project activities as per the M&E mechanism developed and other prescribed formats.
  • Maintain a database of the assigned NGOs to track their field progress on a regular basis.
  • Closely examine quantitative and qualitative data quality indicators to ensure that any discrepancies or issues are highlighted and addressed promptly.
  • Regularly coordinate with the M&E data officer and Project Manager to check align and prioritize day-to-day activities.
  • Sort and clean the collected data before submission to the country office and ensure that data is stored in such a manner that it can be accessed easily whenever needed.
  • Monitor the overall data management of the project and ensure quality project data is collected timely, critically analyzed, validated, and reported.
  • Work with data collection tools, templates, and methodologies to collect project required data and report.
  • Monitor and ensure transparent beneficiary verification, inputs flow and output distribution.
  • Perform any other task deemed necessary by the project manager.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in data analysis, BA, BBA, BSc, Economy, Accounting, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar position in humanitarian food assistance/CBT projects.
  • Ability to travel to districts and villages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-starter, and able to work independently.
  • Experience in leading multi-cultural, multi-lingual teams.
  • Good computer skills especially the data analysis application, knowledge of IT would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and proven ability to follow procedures, complete tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure in a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
