Job Descriptions:

Purpose of the Position

The Site Engineer responsible for planning of activities, design, drawing, leading, providing direction, supporting, overseeing and managing all aspects of NRM (Watershed management activities) at the site. The engineer will  work closely with various stakeholders, including workers, contractors, engineers, and site supervisors, to ensure the successful execution of watershed activities of the project in Samangan and Jawzjan provinces.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake technical assessment, designs, drawing and estimates NRM (watershed activities) and participate in project planning discussion and give valuable inputs at various stages including survey structural analysis, estimations and implementation.
  • Ensure materials quality and share with Project Manager/ Logistics team for approval and finalization.
  • Provide technical advice and suggestions for improvement on site designs.
  • Diagnosing, and troubleshooting equipment as required.
  • Prepare construction implementation report to the project manager/advisor.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best contracts.
  • Review the QA/QC plan based on the project specification and requirement.  and providing feedback to the team.
  • Use material qualification tests to evaluate the conformance of material whit technical specification prior to construction. 
  • Preparing the technical drawings and engineering plans.
  • Ensure that the Project is implemented based on approved drawings and specifications.
  • Gather data, compile reports, and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Complete quality assurance and providing feedback to the team.
  • Estimate construction materials for project site.
  • Manage the planning and design stages of the construction projects.
  • Contribute technical expertise to project drawings and designs.
  • Perform cost calculations and prepare financial projections.
  • Prepare work schedules in collaboration with the project officers and Project Manager.
  • Oversee construction engineering processes.
  • Ensure that the construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Document processes and keeping detailed construction logs.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Site Engineer in NRM (watershed activities).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • have a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint including engineering design platforms. And Software such as AUTO CAD, Primavera P6
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in Dari and Pashtu as well as good communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well under pressure in challenging conditions.
  • Experience in the relevant or similar positions in Construction projects is required.
  • Good Reporting and proposal writing skills.

Be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
