Job Descriptions:

  1. Duties and Responsibilities
    • Support and Guidance
      • Provide support and guidance to the contractor and assist in resolving site problems as necessary.
      •  Attend project sites daily/weekly to monitor progress, identify issues, and provide appropriate solutions in consultation with the line supervisor.
    • Quality Control and Assurance
      •  Ensure the quality and workmanship of every activity, with a thorough understanding of all aspects of civil, architectural, and structural engineering construction.
      •  Check that construction work aligns with project demands and adheres to engineering norms.
      •  Assist in developing and overseeing the Quality Control (QC) plan for construction, equipment, and materials.
      •  Conduct initial surveys on sources of materials, ensuring the quality and quantity of construction materials.
    • Health and Safety
      •  Have knowledge of basic health and safety procedures in the workplace.
    • Material Coordination and Inspection
      •  Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to inspect all materials delivered to the site, ensuring they meet project specifications.
      •  Take corrective actions if materials do not meet specifications and prepare detailed reports on deliveries.
    • Payment and Documentation
      •  Check, verify, and approve interim payments submitted by contractors, and submit detailed reports to the line supervisor.
      •  Assess contractors' work activities, measure completed work, and make recommendations for progress payments.
    • Daily Coordination and Reporting
      •  Coordinate daily/weekly site work with contractors and suppliers according to site needs and requirements.
      •  Inspect and report on contractor’s work in progress to ensure high-quality standards are met.
      •  Prepare progress reports on construction activities and submit them to the line supervisor according to agreed timeframes.
    • Compliance and Standards
      •  Check contractors’ and suppliers’ work for compliance with contract specifications.
      •  Ensure specific quality standards are consistently met at all levels of construction projects.
      •  Ensure infrastructure projects adhere to relevant regulations, industry standards, and donor requirements.

 

    • Meetings and Communication
      •  Conduct regular meetings with contractor representatives to review work progress, identify problems, and set targets.
      •  Design and execute quality control and assurance procedures, monitor and analyze quality performance, and address any quality defects.
    • Record-Keeping and Reporting
      •  Maintain systematic records, compile periodic reports, and prepare any specific reports required for the project.
      •  Develop quality reports for management, donor agencies, and authorities on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
    • Other Responsibilities
      •  Ensure all project activities meet project specifications from start to end.
      •  Perform any other tasks assigned by the line supervisor.
  1. Required Qualifications
    • Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional qualifications in project management is advantageous.

    • Experience:
      • Proven experience in construction project management, preferably with educational facilities or donor-funded projects. Familiarity with civil, architectural, and structural disciplines.
    • Skills:
      •  Strong knowledge of engineering construction practices and standards.
      •  Proficiency in project management software and tools.
      •  Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
      •  Understanding of relevant regulations, industry standards, and donor requirements.
    • Additional Attributes:
      •  Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
      •  Knowledge of health and safety procedures in construction.

 Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports
