About Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO):

YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions.

Job Descriptions:

Conduct comprehensive medical assessments of patients seeking OST services to determine their eligibility and treatment plan.

Develop individualized treatment plans, including the selection of appropriate opioid substitution medications and dosages.

 Administer and monitor the dispensing of opioid substitution medications to patients in accordance with established protocols

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor patients' progress, manage side effects, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  2. Responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of all activities in OST and outreach on a regular basis.
  3. Provide counseling and support to patients, addressing their physical and psychological needs, and promoting recovery.
  4. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  5. Collaborate with a team, including counselors, social workers, and nurses/pharmacists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  6. Provide education and training to patients and their families on OST and harm reduction strategies.
    Participate in quality assurance activities, including peer reviews and compliance with national guidelines.
  7. responsible for providing monthly and quarterly reports, maintaining databases

      • Follow the YHDO policy, rules, and regulations,
      • Responsible for pharmacy and stock management and reporting
      • Build the staff capacity by providing training,
      • Arrange of weekly and monthly meeting

Job Requirements:

Medical Degree Holder of a valid medical degree.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience providing addiction treatment, preferably in an OST setting, Knowledge of evidence-based OST protocols and psychosocial interventions

Training: Received training in opioid substitution therapy.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as Strong clinical and team leadership skills

Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Empathy: Demonstrated empathy and non-judgmental approach in dealing with patients with substance use disorders.

Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
