Bakhtar University (BU) is one of the Afghanistan’s oldest and most prestigious privately held institutions. Lecturing and Teaching:
Prepare and deliver engaging and effective lectures, tutorials, and seminars on various English topics
Develop and update course materials, lecture notes, problem sets, and assessments
Manage and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student learning
Provide academic advising and support to students
Curriculum Development:
Contribute to the design and development of new English courses and programs
Review and revise existing mathematics curricula to ensure relevance and alignment with program goals
Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience
Research and Scholarship:
Conduct independent research in specialized areas of English
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings
Secure external research funding through grants and other sources Participate in academic conferences, workshops, and collaborations Administrative Duties:
Serve on departmental and university-wide committees
Assist with student recruitment and admissions processes
Contribute to the overall operation and management of the English department
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the department or university
Student Supervision and Mentoring:
Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects and dissertations
Provide guidance and support for students' academic and professional development
Serve as a personal tutor or advisor for students
Community Engagement:
Collaborate with industry, government, or other external partners on applied English projects
Participate in outreach activities to promote English education and research
Engage in public lectures, workshops, or other educational initiatives
Minimum of a Master's degree in English literature or a closely related field, with a strong academic background and performance
Teaching Experience:
Significant experience in teaching English at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
Evidence of developing and delivering effective lectures, tutorials, and other instructional activities
Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and a commitment to innovative teaching practices
Research Experience:
A strong record of research publications in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and secure external funding (e.g., research grants)
Potential to establish a sustainable research program and contribute to the research profile of the department
Other Requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students and colleagues
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities
Willingness to participate in departmental and university-wide service activities
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in mathematics education and research
