Serve Afghanistan is a British NGO with project activities in the regions of Kabul, Jalalabad, Laghman, Kandahar and Parwan. Our 130+ Afghan staff is active in the field of disability and community development. Most of our projects have a long-term focus and therefore we value the continued training of our staff and seek to use the talents and optimize the capacities of each individual member of our teams.

Serve Afghanistan is currently working in 12 projects in 5 main sectors which are Inclusive Education for disabled children, Livelihood, Mother, Child Health & Nutrition, Mother Tongue Literacy and Disaster Management.

Job Descriptions:

Main Duty: To work closely with HR and Finance departments related to the staff of health project. And as Admin and Medical recorder of the health project.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Liaison with bank (if specifically asked by Finance head)
  2. Maintenance and security of physical cash in office.
  3. Ensuring the cash is counted daily and monthly.
  4. Maintaining the cash book.
  5. Giving cash advances for purchasing on approval.
  6. Ensuring advances are settled in a timely manner and with appropriate approval.
  7. Provide salary report to the finance department on monthly bases and  salary  payments to the staff in cash if need it.
  8. Verify all the expenses on daily bases.
  9. Collection of inflation data from the local bazar if need it.
  10. Assisting in any work that the Coordinator  may assign to him.
  11. To provide secretarial services to the Project Manager
  12. To oversee the filling system for all office documents and project data
  13. Ensure up-to-date staff information for HR department (staff pictures, ID cards etc.)
  14. Keeping staff records of leave, contract, evaluations etc.
  15. Cooperate with HR about announcing Job vacancy.
  16. To ensure that all relevant office equipment is working properly
  17. Oversee the availability and timely purchase of office stationery and other supplies
  18. To assist the project manager in the preparation of all required reports
  19. Oversee staff daily attendance
  20. To conduct an annual check of all inventory to ensure that all fixed assets are still present and in good condition
  21. To report any discrepancies to the project manager
  22. Contract with landlord regarding office premise rent
  23. Line-managing office staff – drivers, cook/cleaner and Chawkidars
  24. Oversee IT in office
  25. Actively participate in the Humanitarian Relief Program according to the request of Projects Director, Relief Operation Manager and Project Coordinator in the different locations.
  26. Prepare monthly activities plan by base of monthly achievement and use new monthly activities plan template and record it in the staff personal file.
  27. Participate and recording minutes for weekly management meetings and monthly staff meeting.
  28. Medical recordinf of the patinets and related matters
  29. Oversee Office/clinic and Yard maintenance.

Job Requirements:

  1.  Graduated from  university
  2.  Able to read and write English and national laguages
  3.  2-3 years’ relevant work experience, at least 1 year in accouting.
  4.  Excellent references of honesty and integrity on the job
  5.  Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word and Excel, and other general computer knowledge
  6.  Ability to work with team.
  7.  Good written and spoken English
  8.  Good interpersonal skills
