HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  • Prepare of social mobilization activities plan.
  • Perform social mobilization sessions with the relevant clients on the outreach sites/community level.
  • Support health camp staff in the implementation of community-level health care activities.
  • Ensure that all involved staff in the implementation of the health camp activities are wearing PPEs and using hand sanitizers properly during daily outreach sessions.
  • Record daily social mobilization activities in the relevant registers.
  • Report the social mobilization activities to in charge of health camp and the provincial project office timely.
  • Focus on demand generation to increase the uptake of vaccines, improve access, and decrease refusals.
  • Coordination of the social mobilization plan with CHSs and CHWs for follow-up missed opportunities and defaulters.
  • Proper counseling with refusal families to reverse them.
  • Identify the reasons for vaccine refusals and rumors and employ effective counseling techniques to convince the refused families.
  • Effectively coordinate the health camp plan and activities with HF staff, community, and district-level stakeholders.
  • Mapping of the areas for community social mobilization activities.
  • Contact list preparation and coordination with community influencers for social mobilization sessions.
  • Provision and use of proper information/IEC during the social mobilization sessions.
  • Cross-check the data for accuracy and consistency on a regular basis.
  • Maintain regular reports to the health camp in charge, EPI Officer, project officer, and other staff of the project.
  • Obey organization policies and rules.
  • Any other job assigned by the line manager

Job Requirements:

  • Local resident
  • Baccalaureate degree, Medical field related degree is preferable

  • Must be fluent in local languages
