Job Descriptions:

  1. Expense Calculation and Recording:

• Accurately calculate and document all operational expenses associated with oil field activities, ensuring each entry reflects real-time financial status.

• Regularly update financial records to ensure they align with actual expenditures and are ready for audits and financial reviews.

  1. Expense Classification:

• Methodically classify expenses into predefined categories, such as operational, capital, and administrative costs, to streamline reporting and budget management.

  1. Preparation of Accounting Vouchers:

• Develop comprehensive accounting vouchers that detail the nature, purpose, and authorization of each expense.

• Ensure all vouchers are supported by appropriate documentation and are prepared in accordance with both company policy and international financial reporting standards.

  1. Expense Reimbursement:

• Systematically review and approve employee reimbursement requests, verifying that all submissions comply with the company's expense policies and relevant financial regulations.

• Implement improvements to the reimbursement process, reducing processing times and enhancing user experience.

  1. Fraud Prevention and Compliance Enforcement:

• Establish and maintain robust controls within the expense management system to detect and prevent fraudulent activities. • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to financial policies and recommend policy adjustments to minimize risk.

  1. Expense Analysis and Cost Optimization:

• Conduct detailed analyses of expense trends, identifying cost drivers and areas where efficiencies can be achieved.

• Provide regular reports and presentations to management, offering insights and recommendations to optimize operational expenses.

  1. Coordination with Finance and Other Departments:

• Act as the primary liaison between the finance department and other operational units, ensuring that financial data is accurately reflected across all reporting channels.

• Collaborate with budget holders to develop accurate forecasts and manage budgetary constraints effectively.

  1. Additional Responsibilities:

• Take on special projects or tasks as assigned by senior leadership, which may include participation in cross-functional teams aimed at improving overall financial performance

 

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA) are highly desirable.

• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role within the oil and gas industry or a related sector, with proven experience in managing complex financial operations.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

• Strong knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.

 

Language Requirements:

• Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication and documentation. • Proficiency in local languages is required for liaising with local stakeholders and managing daily financial transactions.
