Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through the implementation of Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with the rehabilitation of rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

o Monitor and document border movements of refugees, returnees, and deportees at designated border points.
o Collect quantitative and qualitative data on individuals crossing the border, including identifying protection risks, vulnerabilities, and specific needs, especially for women, children, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.
o Conduct interviews and focus group discussions with border crossers to assess their protection needs and challenges, and record any incidents of concern.
o Identify individuals and groups who may face heightened protection risks, including trafficking, and exploitation.
o Assist in identifying persons with specific needs (PSNs) and facilitate referrals to appropriate protection services and specialized service providers.
o Document and report any protection incidents, ensuring timely responses and appropriate interventions.
o Provide regular reports on border monitoring activities, protection issues, and trends, contributing to the overall situational analysis.
o Track and report on protection risks and vulnerabilities identified along the border regions, ensuring that findings inform program responses and advocacy efforts.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on data collection, monitoring activities, and any protection incidents at border sites and entering to the KOBO toolbox.
o Collaborate closely with UNHCR, government authorities, and NGOs to identify urgent protection needs, and coordinate response efforts.
o Conducting other activities assigned by supervisor
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Rights, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in protection monitoring, border management, or humanitarian work.
• Knowledge of the protection risks and challenges faced by refugees, IDPs, and vulnerable populations in Afghanistan, particularly in border regions.
• Strong data collection and reporting skills, with experience using data management tools such as Excel or other reporting software.
• Fluency in local languages and good working knowledge of English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse communities, stakeholders, and partners.
• Travel to field locations within border regions and work in difficult and remote conditions.
