WASSA is launching a three-month emergency response project to support returnees in Herat province, including Islam Qala border, Guzara, Injil, and Herat City. The project focuses on addressing urgent needs in food security and health, particularly for vulnerable returnee families. The interventions are including of the hot meals distribution cooked through the community kitchens, cash-for-food assistance for vulnerable households, and the operation of a Health Center (CHC/BHC) in Injil district to ensure access to primary health services.
The Community Kitchen Staff will be responsible to be more engage and in touch with 11 selected community kitchen members located in Herat city, Injil and Guzara districts, keep close coordination with stakeholders, village leaders, community shura and local authorities in target areas to support the organization in implementation of the project that focused only the recent returnees. To ensure the selected CKs receive timely the adequate and good quality raw materials from the contracted suppliers, check and control the raw materials, hot meals, record the daily delivery of the food to returnees in Islam Qala boarder, ensure the CK members cook the fresh food based on the given schedule and as well record and report the daily to line manager the number of distributed hot meals for the prior selected returnee beneficiaries in the target communities. In addition; ensure the hygiene, safety issues are considered in each community kitchen and closely work with the kitchen members in case they need any information and support for better food distribution management, crowed control and distribution of hot meals to the target beneficiaries. The community kitchen staff is the key linkage staff between the organization, kitchen members, local stakeholders and beneficiaries to report and update daily/weekly/monthly any issues, challenges, feedback and needs to line manager.
