WASSA is launching a four-month emergency response project to support returnees in Herat province, including Islam Qala border, Guzara, Injil, and Herat City. The project focuses on addressing urgent needs in food security and health, particularly for vulnerable returnee families. Interventions include the distribution of freshly cooked meals through community kitchens, cash-for-food assistance for vulnerable households, and the operation of a Health Center (CHC/BHC) in Injil district to ensure access to primary health services.
The Community Mobilizer will be responsible to mobilize, engage and raising the awareness to the recent returnees about the community kitchen and hot meal program to the returnees and host communities in Herat City, Injil and Guzar districts. He/She is responsible to conduct beneficiary registration, collect and document data related to the returnee needs, challenges and feedback, to keep close coordination with stakeholders, authorities, actors along with the food distribution committees in the target communities to manage well the delivery and distribution of the hot meals to approximately 85,800 fixed beneficiaries in the target communities. Also, to keep close coordination and linkage with community kitchen staff for the effectiveness of the food distribution process and make recommendations for improvements, and provide daily/weekly/monthly inputs and update his/her line manager.
