Job Description
Job Description: The TSFP (Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the implementation of TSFP activities at health facility and community levels. The supervisor ensures that malnourished children and pregnant and lactating women receive appropriate nutritional support according to program guidelines. The role includes supervising field staff, ensuring accurate reporting, monitoring stock of nutrition supplies, and coordinating with health facility teams to ensure the effective delivery of nutrition services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish an appropriate system for implementing TSFP project activities in partnership with communities and provincial health authorities in Nangarhar province.
- Planning, Received, distribute and Manger all TSFP commodities from WFP to HFs
- Work collaboratively to maintain effective linkages and integrate TSFP nutrition activities with Non BPHS implementer in accordance with national standards at health facility, district, and provincial levels.
- Develop short-term implementation plans (weekly and monthly) based on the project work plan.
- Conduct training for project-related staff according to the project training plan and provide on-the-job training and technical support to BPHS health facility staff and Community Health Workers (CHWs).
- Conduct supportive supervision and monitoring of project activities and provide regular feedback to ensure effective and smooth implementation of the TSFP project.
- Ensure regular supervision of health facilities and health posts based on project needs through the development and implementation of supervision plans.
- Collect accurate project activity data on a weekly and monthly basis to support the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
- Participate in program monitoring, evaluations, surveys, and other assessment activities when required.
- Coordinate project activities with stakeholders at the field level, including district governors, community shuras, and NGOs providing health services in the catchment areas.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with provincial nutrition referral centers, BPHS health facilities, and local communities.
- Maintain close coordination and manage project requirements with non-BPHS implementers under this contract, including planning, monitoring, reporting, and feedback mechanisms.
- Attend TSFP project-related meetings at the provincial level and implement decisions made during meetings in coordination with relevant departments.
- Report any technical or operational challenges during project implementation and provide logical suggestions for program improvement.
- Support the implementation of national nutrition policies, strategies, and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policies and report any safeguarding or misconduct concerns in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and ethical behavior at all times.
- Assist with emergency response monitoring during outbreaks or humanitarian events when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or delegated by the TSFP Coordinator
Job Requirements
- MD (Medical Doctor), or related health qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Nutrition program.
- Experience in BPHS/EPHS implementation or humanitarian health projects preferred.
- Strong Monitoring, Evaluation, Supportive Supervision, Learning and Accountability understanding.
- Experience Data analysis and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of MoPH policies, HMIS/DHIS2, MEAL and project Development.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Dari and Pashto; good command of English (written & spoken).
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
