Job Description
Job Description:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the project. The role requires effective management of project teams, coordination with local authorities, clusters, and communities, ensuring the project achieve its objectives within time, scope, and budget, while maintaining compliance with AWRO and donor regulations.
TOR:
- Lead the overall planning, implementation, and management of project activities in target districts
- Supervise and support project field teams including assistants, trainers, data collectors, and other support staff
- Ensure the project is implemented according to approved work plan, budget, and donor requirements
- Coordinate with relevant government authorities, Health and Nutrition Clusters, OCHA, AHF, regional WHO, UNICEF, and WFP focal points, local communities, and partners to ensure smooth implementation
- Ensure timely organization of service delivery, health and nutrition orientation sessions, community sensitization, and monitoring activities
- Ensure effective budget tracking, procurement planning, and support the finance/admin teams in financial management
- Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality project progress reports, success stories, and lessons learned
- Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality service delivery, community engagement, and accountability to affected populations (AAP)
- Ensure proper risk management, including early coordination for MOUs and addressing implementation challenges
- Promote and enforce PSEA, GBV, protection mainstreaming, and gender-sensitive programming
- Actively represent AWRO in relevant cluster meetings, provincial authority meetings, coordination platforms, and working groups at provincial and district levels
- Support external and internal project evaluations, PDMs, and donor monitoring visits
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Program Manager or AWRO Senior Management
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Medical/Nutrition Management Field, Business Administration, or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in managing humanitarian or development projects, preferably in health and nutrition sectors
- Strong leadership, coordination, and team management skills
- Proven experience in working with AHF, UN agencies, Clusters, and local authorities
- Good understanding of donor compliance, project cycle management (PCM), and financial procedures
- Excellent communication skills in Dari and Pashto; English proficiency is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure and in remote, challenging environments
- Strong commitment to humanitarian principles, gender equality, and community empowerment
