Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political and non-profit humanitarian organization founded in 2014 register with the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoIRA) under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk and underserved people throughout the country.

ACDO responds to the needs of disadvantaged and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scars resources in a well, efficient, transparent and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.

ACDO has active presence at least in nine provinces in five regions of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces as well with the aim to transform itself into a leading and developed organization which will deliver to and support significant number of people who had been affected by the long protracted and sudden on-set emergencies in Afghanistan. Regardless of the hardest circumstances that existed in Afghanistan in 2022 and 2021, ACDO has managed to deliver humanitarian and development assistance in Nangarhar, Herat, Balkh, Kabul, Kandahar, Bamyan, Wardak, Jawzjan, Paktia, Kunduz, Takhar, Laghman, Daykundi and Farah provinces.

The Cook & Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic office and guesthouse environment while preparing nutritious meals for staff, guests, and official meetings. The position plays an important role in ensuring a healthy workplace and supporting the smooth operation of the organization's daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

A. Cooking Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals, tea, and refreshments for staff, visitors, and official meetings as required.
• Develop meal plans and prepare food in accordance with approved menus and nutritional standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared hygienically and safely.
• Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients before cooking.
• Properly store food items and monitor their freshness and expiration dates.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and inform the supervisor of replenishment needs.
• Minimize food waste through proper planning and storage.
• Ensure safe handling of kitchen equipment and cooking appliances.

B. Cleaning Responsibilities

• Clean offices, meeting rooms, kitchen, washrooms, guesthouse, and other assigned areas daily.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust office premises.
• Clean windows, furniture, doors, and office equipment as assigned.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of garbage in designated areas.
• Replenish soap, tissue paper, drinking water, and other hygiene supplies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the office.
• Report any maintenance issues or damages to the Admin Officer.

C. Inventory & Asset Management

• Maintain proper use and care of kitchen utensils, cleaning equipment, and office supplies.
• Assist in maintaining inventory records of kitchen and cleaning materials.
• Report shortages or damaged items promptly.

D. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment when required.
• Comply with the organization's policies, Code of Conduct, safeguarding principles, and security procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

E. Other Duties

• Support administrative staff during meetings, workshops, and official events by serving refreshments.
• Assist with guesthouse preparation for visitors when requested.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor that are relevant to the position.

• Good cooking skills with the ability to prepare a variety of local meals.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation practices.

Language Requirements
