Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through the implementation of Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with the rehabilitation of rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

Job Description

Deliver practical training on carpet weaving techniques. Demonstrate loom preparation, warp setting, knotting, weaving, and finishing. Train participants on different carpet patterns, designs, and weaving methods. Provide guidance on appropriate use of yarn, tools, and weaving equipment. Train participants on quality control and identification of weaving defects. Promote improved techniques to enhance productivity and product quality. Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of weaving equipment. Monitor trainees' performance and provide technical feedback. Maintain training attendance and progress records. Coordinate with the project team regarding training materials and requirements. Perform other relevant duties assigned by the organization.

Job Requirements

Good documentation and reporting skills. Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English with working knowledge. Relevant technical/vocational qualification in carpet weaving, textiles, handicrafts, or a related field. At least 3 years of practical experience in carpet weaving. Strong knowledge of traditional and modern carpet weaving techniques. Previous experience as a trainer is preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with community members and trainees. Candidates with proven practical experience and strong hands-on technical skills in carpet weaving will be given preference.
