YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provision of psychosocial counseling, social support, and psychoeducation for affected populations including motivational counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy.
• Provide counseling services to people vulnerable to, at risk of, and with drug use disorders
• Provide HIV test (pre and Post) counselling
• Assist in developing IEC materials regarding drug use, treatment, and health care,
• Conduct a regular follow-up of registered cases
• Provide individual and/or group counseling session
• Organize training sessions on stress management and other related issues for staff and beneficiaries
• Keep the daily record in a confidential and safe manner
• Prepare daily and monthly reports for the direct supervisor
• Referral of clients to external structures if needed and agreed with YHDO management
• Ensure high quality of psychosocial services within drug prevention and PS center
• Perform any other tasks in line with the job description and assigned by the direct supervisor

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• University degree in psychology or social services
• Experience working on drug prevention-related projects,
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Excellent knowledge of drug prevention and psychosocial counseling  
• Strong report-writing skills
• Excellent oral and writing skills in Pashto, Dari,
• Able to work late hours and on an irregular schedule if required
• Able to provide project progress reports on/before its due time and upon any further request by the immediate supervisor
• Respect for confidentiality and a sense of security
