Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political NGO established in 1990. The head office of the organization is located in Kabul, Afghanistan, and delivers humanitarian services in the sectors of Livelihood, Good Governance, WASH, and Emergency through its four regional offices in Mazar, Herat, Jalalabad, and the central zone in a decentralized manner.
Conduct a sustainable land management study and develop an action plan on agro-based interventions and activities accordingly.
2. Provide technical support, inputs, and agricultural extension services to farmers, farmers groups, and cooperatives for the production handling of high-value agricultural and horticultural commodities.
3. Train farmers in new agriculture technology, and horticulture techniques and methods to enhance productivity on mushrooms, beekeeping, poultry, livestock, and kitchen gardening in the area.
4. Training of the female beneficiaries on the poultry production and implementation of the poultry - activities;
5. Lead the development of agricultural technical standards, training manuals, and other implementation tools for the development of agriculture.
6. Establish demonstration farms and conduct participatory trials and research, and demonstrate comparative results of improved agro-based production methodologies with selected beneficiaries.
7. Link farmers, kitchen gardening, poultry, and livestock beneficiaries to the local markets to generate income.
8. Management team extensive field visits, monitor the progress of activities, document lessons learned and best practices and ensure collection and compilation of M&E data and information from the field and prepare progress reports.
9. Ensure close communication and coordination with the project team, district authorities, and community elders through regular visits, participation in meetings, organizing joint field visits, and submission of reports.
10. Conduct, accordingly, necessary training for the district and provincial extension staff involved in the project for implementation of the demonstration and for farmers to improve their skills and capacity.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or Agriculture Extension
2. At least 3 years of progressive work experience in similar roles in the field of food security and nutrition, livelihoods, agricultural extension, value chain, and marketing projects with INGO or Afghan NGOs.
3. Experience in agricultural marketing and business linkages; delivery of field-level extension activities; organizing training and delivery; and training received in related subjects
4. Experience in developing agriculture/horticulture-based training curricula, agriculture value chain, marketing, and business development.
5. Experience in facilitating agricultural extension methodologies, particularly Self-help Groups with a demonstration of participatory research and technology development following Demonstration farms is preferred.
6. Understanding research and survey methodologies, designing and implementing food security and nutrition survey, value chain study, and market assessment is required.
7. Good spoken and written skills in English, Pashto, and Dari Languages and possess good skills in report writing.
