  4. North East Region covers: Kunduz, Takhar, Badakhshan and Baghlan provinces
  5. North Region covers: Samangan, Balkh (Mazar-e-Sharif), Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul and Faryab provinces
  6. West Region covers: Herat, Badghis, Farah and Ghor provinces

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adapt and mentor field staff on regular program data collection tools, KOBO application, and database usage throughout the year, ensuring compliance with Global team’s quality and reporting standards.
  • Review and adapt existing social and environmental assessment tools based on the local context, utilizing available resources and previous program insights to refine tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and implement a capacity-building plan (including feedback sessions, group/individual mentoring, and workshops) for field staff to effectively integrate gender and social safeguard measures into their monitoring activities.
  • Ensure the integration of gender and social inclusion principles in all project assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Conduct regular environmental and social safeguard monitoring in coordination with the project team to ensure compliance with donor requirements and national regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports documenting safeguard activities, findings, and recommendations for improving gender, social, and environmental outcomes.
  • Prepare case studies and success stories on gender and social inclusion, showcasing best practices and positive results from the field.
  • Ensure compliance with the Safeguarding Policy, reporting any suspicions or violations as per the given training.

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/irrigation, social sciences, economics, agriculture, management, or related sectors (e.g., food security, agriculture, and livelihood).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in environmental, social, and gender safeguard monitoring, particularly in rural and agricultural settings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages.
  • Ability to work in culturally diverse settings, with strong cross-cultural communication and gender sensitivity.
  • Proven experience in mentoring field staff and designing effective monitoring strategies.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills, focusing on gender and social inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team under challenging and remote conditions.
