The organization is establish and run by an Afghan women with a strong and committed team to respond to the development needs of Afghanistan such as; educational, advocacy, human rights, environmental, health and economical perspectives. VDO is committed to work for the welfare and progress of society with focus on abovementioned areas.

Job Descriptions:

  • Implement all applicable MEAL policies and tools for monitoring and evaluation, learning and accountability of the project activities, and ensure monitoring and evaluation, and accountability that mechanisms/systems and quality controls are in place.
  • Conduct training to project team on monitoring and evaluation and accountability tools, and assist them in the implementation of MEAL and FCMS systems
  • Develop regularly reports on status of project deliverables in the area of the development of effective monitoring and evaluation, learning and accountability mechanisms.
  • Document the lessons learned and case studies and share with Technical Unit,
  • Ensure alignment of MEAL systems with project objectives, donor requirements, standards, incorporating best practices in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of monitoring activities, including the development of data collection instruments, sampling methodologies, and data collection plans, to track project progress, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate data collection efforts, ensuring the timely and accurate collection, recording, and reporting of data from project sites, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Plan and conduct evaluations, assessments, and reviews to assess program effectiveness, impact, and sustainability, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Facilitate learning processes and knowledge sharing activities to promote reflection, adaptation, and continuous improvement across programs and projects.
  • Establish and manage accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaint handling systems, to ensure the participation, feedback, and satisfaction of beneficiaries, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and respond to feedback received through various channels, ensuring that concerns are addressed, lessons are learned, and improvements are made.
  • Analyze monitoring and evaluation data to generate insights, trends, and lessons learned, synthesizing findings into clear and actionable recommendations for programmatic decision-making and reporting.
  • Prepare and disseminate regular MEAL reports, including baseline assessments, progress reports, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations, in accordance with donor requirements and project timelines
  • Develop impact assessment of the projects, and support the fundraising team in the proposal development stage.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Business Administration or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) roles, preferably within emergency humanitarian or development sector.

Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems, frameworks, and tools for complex projects.
