Job Descriptions:

 Provide technical supervision and technical training to health staff to ensure provision of an effective, quality basic health and nutrition program, and maintain excellent relationships with government bodies and other partners through timely reporting and documentation sharing.   

Job Requirements:

Key Result Area (KRA) 1:        Team Work and Values – The Kabul MCNH Project Supervisor will:

  1. Develop and maintain good relationship with all co-workers.
  2. Teach and nurture vision, mission and values of Operation Mercy to all health staff and model character building, accountability and understanding in basic health care and training principles.

 

Key Result Area (KRA) 2:        Project Supervision – The Kabul MCNH Project Supervisor will:

  1. Perform supportive supervision and on-the-job training to staff within each department of the basic health centers and provide report and feedback to each clinic based on findings.
  2. Cooperate and coordinate with MoPH/DoPH Monitoring and Evaluation Teams. Prepare a report of progress, create action plans based on feedback, and follow through to ensure improvements are made.
  3. Keep records of all monitoring and evaluation provided, as well as clear documentation of all paperwork related to the basic health centers.
  4. Create checklists for each staff position to encourage ongoing staff development. Visit each clinic weekly to ensure progress towards staff goals.

 

Key Result Area (KRA) 3:        Project Administration Support – The Kabul MCNH Project Supervisor will:

  1. Develop and maintain good relationships with different levels of MoPH to ensure permission and acceptance of project activities
  2. Ensure good coordination and communication at all relevant levels and departments of the Ministry or Public Health, and represent the mission, vision and values of Operation Mercy before official bodies
  3. Ensure all documentation is submitted for MOUs and MoPH/MoEc reports in a timely manner and urgently continue to follow up the process of MOUs and other permissions until obtained
  4. Ensure timely submission of all clinical reports to Project Management for government departments and partners
  5. Submit all monthly, 6-month and annual reports, sector letters etc to relevant departments on time.
  6. Support Technical Manager in requesting SAM supplies from DoPH, and in ensuring stock is available when and where it is needed
  7. Maintain stock records to ensure stock is not lost or wasted
  8. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, including data protection.
  9. Assist Project Managers with financial processes as needed.

 

Key Result Area (KRA) 4:        Data Collection and Analysis – The Kabul MCNH Project Supervisor will:

  1. Ensure that all data from Health and Nutrition Services in our clinics is collected, processed and analyzed so that it is available for monitoring and reports.
  2. Maintains all the clinical health and nutrition databases through regular timely and accurate data entry and securing information by ensuring all databases are saved to the appropriate location. 
  3. Provide all data entry reporting templates (e.g. Registration books, registration cards, tally sheets etc.) to Health Centers as needed, and assists with ensuring relevant staff are able to use these forms correctly
  4. Reviews data for deficiencies, resolves discrepancies by communicating with and/or returning incomplete documents to the appropriate team leader for resolution and correcting data entry as needed.
  5. Archives original documents into appropriate folders and makes scanned copies as required; provides paper copies of documents that are kept at field level. 
  6. Assists in preparing weekly and monthly reports as requested by the Project Manager.
  7. Regularly looks at feedback collected and organizes it into a usable format for responding and informs appropriate persons (Outreach Supervisors, managers, site team leaders) on responses that need to be given to beneficiaries.
  8. Ensure that data from all Nutrition and MCH training is collected, entered and analysed in a way that enables project management to assess effectiveness of training
  9. Provide data needed for all donor reports in a timely manner

Profile of MCNH Project Supervisor

Non-negotiable:

Education:

  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office package, and advanced experience with Excel
  • Holding a diploma in Public Health faculty that has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education

Work Experience:

  • 2 years of work experience with National/International NGO’s in Health Projects in a similar position

Languages:

  • Written and spoken Dari, Pashtu, and English

Skills:

  • Data entry (especially DHIS2)
  • Data collection and report writing
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Planning
  • Attention to detail and thorough
  • Analyzing information
