The Deputy Project Manager will support the Project Manager in the effective planning, implementation, and management of the AIYA project across targeted provinces. Key objectives include:
1. Support Project Implementation: Assist in the execution of project activities, ensuring alignment with established goals and timelines.
2. Quality Assurance: Contribute to maintaining high standards of program quality in accordance with CARE’s and USAID’s compliance requirements.
3. Team Coordination: Facilitate communication and collaboration among project staff and partners to ensure smooth operations.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Help build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support project objectives.
Activity Coordination: Assist in coordinating project activities to ensure they are implemented effectively and efficiently in target provinces.
Timeline Management: Help develop and manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to schedules.
Data Collection: Support the establishment of monitoring frameworks to track progress against project indicators.
Field Assessments: Conduct field visits to monitor project implementation and gather feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment among project staff, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
Regular Meetings: Assist in organizing and facilitating team meetings to review progress and address challenges.
Training Support: Identify training needs within the team and assist in implementing capacity-building initiatives.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to project staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Financial Tracking: Assist in monitoring project expenditures to ensure compliance with the budget.
Reporting Support: Help prepare financial reports and address any discrepancies in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Relationship Maintenance: Support the Project Manager in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with local partners.
Guidance Provision: Assist in providing technical guidance and support to partners in project implementation and reporting.
Standards Adherence: Help implement project activities in accordance with CARE’s quality standards and best practices.
Feedback Collection: Assist in conducting quality assessments and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Help coordinate engagement with relevant stakeholders, including government entities and community organizations.
Meeting Organization: Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings and forums to discuss project progress and gather input.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or implementation, preferably in the education or youth development sectors.
Technical Skills: Understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and experience with data collection and analysis.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and proficiency in local languages, such as Dari and Pashto.
