In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  1. Overall Responsibilities :
  • Pharmacy Manager Over all responsible for pharmaceutical management of the KPH and maintaining the existing already developed system.
  • Pharmacy Manager will oversee the progress of the pharmaceutical management  periodically and to ensure the adherence to the set objective and targets
  1. Core Responsibilities

2.1 Pharmacy Management

  • To technically support main office to plan procurement with sufficient lead time.
  • To provide and check the requests forms to ensure that are  made properly from technical aspect
  • To be a member of pharmaceutical selection committee and technical perspective
  • Follow up of submitted pharmaceutical request with Kabul pharmacy for timely supply
  • To prepare distribution, consumption, PLIS and inventory reports for main office
  • Provision of action plan for feedback
  • To work and follow up activities of hospital DTCs.
  • To attend pharmacy related meetings.
  • To use mSupply tool in provincial level.

2.2 Coordination and Response

 

  • To closely coordinate pharmaceutical issues with relevant bodies and staff
  • Ensure team work and promote strong effective working relationships between procurement teams in Kabul and field pharmacy department
  • To lead coordination of pharmacy related issues

 

2.3 Reporting

 

  • Ensure all  Pharmacy reports are provided  timely  and submitted to main office
  • Provision of action plan regarding submitted reports, if needed
  • Ensure Pharmaceutical Information system is functional within organization.
  • Keep proper filing system of all  pharmacy related documents in hard and soft forms
  • To strengthened application of  monitoring tools (IMAT, RUD and checklists) in cooperation with Kabul pharmacy and conducting ABC and VEN analysis

 

 

2.4 Supervision and Monitoring

 

  • Regular supervisions from pharmacy management system of OPD & IPD unit
  • Follow up of external monitoring visits, action plans and ensuring corrective measures are taken at KPH and HFs level against external monitoring visits
  • To design formats for collection of Laghman pharmaceutical management data and provide necessary technical support to ensure smooth flow of data and information to country office
  • To assist in establishment and maintenance of data bases at Laghman provincial level so that information on the pharmacy related indicators are regularly fed and analyzed for reporting and the outcome incorporated in program implementation strategies for further strengthening the quality of related program interventions
  • To provide regular feedback to project manager & Hospital Director on the performance (quality/quantity) of the pharmacy related management

 

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from recognized pharmacy faculty or MD
  • At least five work experience in NGO or MoPH
  • Have a computer and reporting skills
  • Have a good communication skills & good management skills
  • Have a supervisory and monitoring skills
