Job Descriptions:

Position Summary

The Women Economic Empowerment Trainer is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring training programs aimed at enhancing economic opportunities for women in Panjshir province. This position focuses on equipping women with skills in entrepreneurship, vocational expertise, financial literacy, and market access to foster sustainable livelihoods and improve their economic independence.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Training Program Development and Implementation

  • Develop comprehensive, culturally sensitive training curricula on business development, financial management, marketing, and product development, tailored to the needs of women in Panjshir.
  • Deliver inclusive and interactive training sessions to ensure diverse participants, including women with limited education, can fully engage.
  • Use innovative and participatory methodologies, such as group exercises, case studies, and real-world applications, to enhance learning outcomes.

Capacity Building and Skills Development

  • Conduct specialized training sessions on business planning, resource management, and leadership skills.
  • Provide mentorship and individualized support to women entrepreneurs, guiding them in operationalizing their businesses and improving profitability.
  • Organize peer learning initiatives to encourage collaboration, shared learning, and community support among trainees.

Market Linkages and Economic Opportunities

  • Support participants in identifying and accessing local markets, financial institutions, and business networks to scale their ventures.
  • Facilitate connections between women entrepreneurs and local businesses to create sustainable partnerships and income-generation opportunities.
  • Train women on how to access and use digital tools for marketing and networking.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

  • Design and implement MEL systems to assess the outcomes and impact of training programs.
  • Conduct baseline, midline, and end line assessments to measure knowledge and skill enhancement.
  • Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned to inform program adaptation and donor reporting.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build relationships with local government officials, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure program sustainability.
  • Represent HHWO in relevant advocacy forums and provincial-level meetings on economic empowerment and gender equality.
  • Partner with financial institutions to explore micro-loans or Sharia-compliant financing opportunities for women-led businesses.

Advocacy and Awareness Raising

  • Promote awareness on the importance of women’s economic participation through campaigns, workshops, and stakeholder dialogues.
  • Advocate for gender-sensitive policies and practices that support women’s entrepreneurship in Panjshir.

Team Capacity Building

  • Train and mentor HHWO staff on women’s economic empowerment principles and implementation strategies.
  • Strengthen the technical capacity of field facilitators to ensure high-quality training delivery across all program components.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Gender Studies, or related fields (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and delivering women’s economic empowerment training programs.
  • Experience working with rural and marginalized communities, addressing gender-specific challenges in economic empowerment.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and build the capacity of women entrepreneurs or community-based groups.

Skills

  • Expertise in training facilitation using participatory methods.
  • Strong knowledge of gender equality principles and barriers faced by women entrepreneurs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis for monitoring program impact.

Languages

  • Fluency in English, Farsi-Dari, and/or Pashto (written and spoken).
