Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with registration No:397.AYSO since came into being has developed, successfully implemented, and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health, educational, Food Security,  Capacity building, GBV Prevention and Response, Peace, Justice Research, and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP,UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO, AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID, FHI, BARC, AADA,HEWAD, and other National and International Organization.

Job Descriptions:

  • Support the continuous quality improvement of integrated and stand-alone RMNCAH
  • programs including service delivery in clinical and community-based settings.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the RMNCAH -MoPH strategy at the facility and
  • community-based settings.
  • Main duties:
  • To improve achievement on RH-related indicators through effective supervision,
  • coordination; involvement in RH target setting, and providing technical support to FHH
  • staff;
  • To orient the related staff on target setting.
  • To facilitate the flow of communication between the field RMNCAH staff, FHH, and other
  • stakeholders.
  • To monitor and evaluate the activities of midwives in HFs, giving feedback and support.
  • To participate in joint monitoring with DoPH, donors, or other stockholders at the
  • provincial level, in case needed.
  • To ensure the quality of services in FHHs, and staff performance on RMNCAH indicators.
  • To play major roles in the use of tools to systemically evaluate the quality of services in
  • FHHs of the “Increasing Access to RMNCAH” project.
  • To prepare monthly activity reports and submit them to the provincial project manager
  • AYSO sub office.
  • To follow up with FHH supervisors, and community midwives according to the prepared
  • monthly action plan.
  • To be part of the Management team in the sub-office and involved in the RMNCAH staff
  • appraisal process.
  • Accountable, and reporting to project manager.

  • To follow up monthly feedback for HFs to reflect the strong and weak points along with an
  • action plan which will be provided by the provincial project manager.
  • To attend provincial RH workshop each quarter and provide the required presentation.
  • To provide and submit on-time mission/activity reports to project manager on a daily/
  • weekly basis (written document or e-mail).
  • To ensure that each FHH under her supervisory is visited at least once per month.
  • To perform any other official task assigned by project manager and office teams.
  • Capacity Building and Mentorship
  • In collaboration with the project manager, establish and maintain regular communication
  • with Community Midwives throughout the province FHHs through mechanisms such as
  • Brushers, Guidelines, treatment Protocols, go-to meetings, etc.
  • Review and disseminate key best practice guidelines documents and provide individual
  • support to RMNCAH provincial office for implementation.
  • Using guidelines on ‘RMNCAH” and with support from Project Manager for knowledge
  • management and learning, organize training materials, conduct capacity building of team
  • members and community Midwives during field visits.
  • Using a consultative process to identify and prioritize technical guidance needs for
  • RMNCAH programming (i.e., Maternal health, Child Health, Adolescent Health, Family
  • Planning, Antenatal Care, Intra natal Care, Postnatal Care, Newborn Care, etc.).
  • Representation and Reporting
  • Participate in internal and external technical meetings/working groups in order to
  • contribute to learning on RMNCAH, share RMNCAH’s successes and challenges in
  • RMNCAH programming, and learn about promising and best practices for RMNCAH’s
  • learning.
  • Develop monthly work plan and discuss with project manager and other provincial staff as
  • needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by project manager or main office project staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate from a recognized Medical University (MD) or Midwifery Education institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the related field is required. (Health management &
  • Reproductive health);
  • Fluency in Dari/Pashto and knowledge of the English language.
  • Administrative, management, and organizational skills, including time management
  • required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and presentation skills are essential: MS Word, MS
  • Excel, MS PowerPoint, and others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively in the field.
