Headquartered in Kabul, Afghanistan, RRAA delivers humanitarian services across sectors such as Livelihood, Good Governance, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and Emergency Response through regional offices in Mazar, Herat, Jalalabad, and the Central Zone. RRAA’s approach focuses on decentralized service delivery to rural communities.

Job Descriptions:

  1. Community Mobilization and Engagement:
    • Actively engage with communities to raise awareness about nutrition, health, and WASH issues.
    • Lead efforts to mobilize community members to participate in health and nutrition programs, ensuring inclusion and active involvement.
    • Conduct community meetings, focus groups, and awareness sessions to discuss nutrition, health, and WASH topics.
  2. Program Implementation and Support:
    • Support the implementation of community-based nutrition and health programs, ensuring they align with local needs.
    • Ensure WASH practices are integrated into community health and nutrition programs for holistic community well-being.
    • Oversee and assist with the distribution of hygiene kits, health supplies, and other resources to beneficiaries.
  3. Capacity Building:
    • Provide training and capacity-building sessions for community health workers, volunteers, and local leaders in nutrition, health, and WASH.
    • Ensure that community workers and health practitioners are equipped with necessary skills and tools to carry out effective interventions at the grassroots level.
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Monitor the progress of community-based interventions in nutrition, health, and WASH, and provide feedback to ensure the quality of services.
    • Collect data and contribute to the preparation of reports related to project outcomes and community impact.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of M&E systems to track key performance indicators and project results.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
    • Maintain strong communication with beneficiaries, ensuring that their feedback is gathered and addressed promptly.
    • Represent the organization at community meetings and health forums as necessary.
  6. Awareness Raising and Advocacy:
    • Lead and participate in advocacy campaigns to promote better nutrition, health, and WASH practices in communities.
    • Educate community members on hygiene practices, sanitation, and the importance of proper nutrition to improve overall well-being.
  7. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of all community engagement activities, including attendance at training sessions and community meetings.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on the status of community engagement activities, training sessions, and project progress.
    • Contribute to donor and internal reports, ensuring data is accurate and timely.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in Medical Doctor (MD), Public Health, Nutrition, WASH, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in community engagement, health, nutrition, or WASH programs, particularly in rural or conflict-affected settings.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of community-based nutrition, health, and WASH interventions.
    • Proven experience in community mobilization and engagement strategies.
    • Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems and reporting tools.
    • Knowledge of behavior change communication (BCC) techniques for promoting health and hygiene practices.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data collection tools.
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of local languages (Dari or Pashto) is highly preferred.
