About OCHR (Organization for Coordination of Humanitarian Relief):

OCHR is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization implementing relief, stabilization, and development programs across Afghanistan. OCHR’s primary advocacy and existence is based on reducing the suffering of Afghanistan’s most vulnerable groups and providing the tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency, focusing on addressing the needs of communities emerging from conflict or natural disaster. OCHR collaborates with a wide range of partners and donors, local organizations, and many others to deliver sustainable services aligned with SDGs and UN triple nexus i.e. to interlink humanitarian, development, and peace.

OCHR program planning and theory of change mainly focus to achieve A-SDGs i.e. its institutional setup and policy documents is founded to recognize and interlink sustainable development and relevant ongoing processes.

Since its establishment, throughout the years OCHR has developed an integrated strategic approach, which addresses the needs of vulnerable people living both in humanitarian and development settings. OCHR's key programmatic and strategic priorities in Afghanistan are;

  • Education.
  • Health.
  • Food Security through agricultural development and livestock.
  • Water Sanitation and Hygiene-WASH.
  • Peace, justice and social development through public awareness and human rights, promoting right-based approaches.
  • Clean energy and environment.

OCHR differ widely in its program planning and strategies—contributing in long-term interventions concerning humanitarian response and sustainable development, and specifically focuses on the ultra-poor communities of Afghanistan enabling them to develop sustainable livelihood through microfinance and re-integration into society.

Job Descriptions:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and manages the finance and administration process for the project:
  • Develop, track, record and report generators fuel usage, equipment and maintenances in close collaboration with Logistics / procurements and ensure smoothly operations equipment and tools at the project site
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and the project manager in maintaining book accounts and other financial records of OCHR, adhering to the financial standard of the OCHR financial system to ensure accountability.
  • Reviewing the correctness and adequate of accounting documents before making payment.
  • Coordinating with cashier to record all receipt vouchers, payments paid in cash to the ledger
  • Performing cost allocation of accounts to put into vouchers
  • Entering all payment vouchers, receipt vouchers and other journals into QB on daily basis
  • Assist FM in preparing the monthly closing report
  • Preparing and assisting in the reconciliation of bank and cash
  • Ensuring accounting documents/files for audit
  • Preparing fund request for field office.
  • Dealing with customers include bank, visitor, consultant and staff on finance and accounting when required.
  •  Ensuring that project expenditures are adequately tracked according to the agreed project budget in close coordination with Admin & Finance Manager and on site Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in BBA, Social Science with specialization in Finance.  
  • At least be familiar with Finance Basic principles, Finance policy and other terms.
  • Two years of experience in similar projects with preferably two years in NGO’s sector 
  • Technical and practical competence in humanitarian response projects, financial issues in emergency response programs.
  • Experience in managing tough contexts and project driven organizations.
  • Proven experience in finance department and as a finance role in projects.
  • Excellent written and oral English language and computer skills.
  • Structured, well organized and self-driven
  • Excellent communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build other people’s capacity
  • Culture and conflict sensitive
