Job Description

The Female Medical Doctor (MD) is responsible for providing quality curative, preventive, and promotive healthcare services to patients at Jockan CHC in accordance with BPHS, MoPH, and SAFE project standards. The incumbent will diagnose and treat patients, support maternal and child health services, participate in emergency response activities, and ensure proper medical documentation and patient care.

Duties and Responsiblity:

  • Diagnose and manage outpatient and inpatient medical cases according to national treatment guidelines.
  • Provide medical consultation and treatment to female, male, and pediatric patients.
  • Prescribe medications appropriately and rationally.
  • Manage emergency and critical cases timely and effectively.
  • Ensure proper follow-up and referral of complicated cases.
  • Support ANC, PNC, family planning, and reproductive health services.
  • Coordinate with midwives and other clinical staff for maternal and newborn care.
  • Participate in child health and nutrition services.
  • Promote breastfeeding and maternal health awareness
  • Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
  • Ensure safe medical practices and proper waste management.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and registration books.
  • Prepare daily and monthly medical reports as required.
  • Ensure proper documentation of referrals, treatments, and medical activities
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Support and supervise junior clinical staff when needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and technical discussions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to improve service quality.
  • Participate in outreach and emergency response activities if required. 
  • Follow BPHS, MoPH, and SAFE project policies, guidelines, and procedures. 

Job Requirements

  • MD degree from a recognized medical university.
  • Valid medical license from relevant authorities.
  • At least 3 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of BPHS services and national treatment protocols.
  • Experience in maternal and child health services preferred.
  • Good computer and reporting skills are an advantage
  • Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari. 
  • Basic English communication skills preferred.
  • Clinical diagnosis and patient management skills.
  • Communication and counseling abilities.
  • Teamwork and coordination skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Based at Jockan CHC, Nangarhar Province.
