Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating and ensuring the proper implementation of all electrical works in Balkh steel melting plant during the construction and installation phase. The role requires close collaboration with international engineers, supervision of Medium-voltage and low-voltage systems and strong involvement in Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure proper implementation of approved electrical drawings and designs according to international standards.
• Coordinate and work closely with Indian and other foreign engineers involved in the project.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of distribution and converter duty transformers.
• Oversee installation, assembly and commissioning of 20kV switchgear, including protection systems and control panels.
• Review, verify and approve electrical shop drawings, layouts and technical documents.
• Plan, design and supervise LED lighting systems including lighting calculations, drawings, installation and testing.
• Ensure proper execution of grounding systems, lightning protection and cable routing systems.
• Monitor installation of power cables, control cables, cable trays and bus bars.
• Conduct and supervise electrical testing (insulation resistance, continuity, protection relay testing, etc.).
• Implement and maintain Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures for all electrical works.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE and relevant international electrical standards.
• Identify design or installation issues and provide technical solutions on-site.
• Prepare and review method statements, inspection checklists and progress reports.
• Ensure electrical works are executed safely in accordance with HSE regulations.
• Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to avoid clashes and delays.
• Participate in site acceptance tests (SAT) when required.
• Support management during inspections, audits and handover processes.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical projects (Factories, Power Pants and substations).
• Strong knowledge of power systems, transformers, switchgear, distribution grid and industrial electrical installations.
• Proven experience in QC/QA activities in relevant projects.
• Ability to read, interpret and prepare electrical drawings and schematics.
• Good communication skills in English (spoken and written) and Hindi (spoken).
• Ability to work under pressure and manage site activities efficiently.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills.
