Job Summary:

He is required to follow this job description and complete her work in respect of the WAW rules and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates methods to assess and record baseline psychological health of each child in children’s center and other WAW facilities when called upon.
  • Develops plan to assess improvement or deterioration of psychological condition of each child after specific intervals of time.
  • Provides treatment plan for each child with psychological/behavior problems
  • Trains staff in day-to-day treatment of troubled children.
  • Provides literature on treatment of troubled children.
  • Meets bimonthly with staff to discuss progress of children, do in-depth analysis of a specific case, and review current literature on child psychology.
  • Is available for consultations when serious behavior problems arise.
  • Provides method of assessing mental health of mothers in prison, particularly in terms of their relations with their children and prospects for reintegration.
  • When called upon, assists WAW counselors in dealing with mothers in prison.
  • Informs center manager when appropriate workshops or training courses are available in relevant subjects.
  • Recommends psychiatric facilities when needed.
  • Provide Reports to Children Support Center Manager
  • Maintains database portion devoted to mental health of each child.
  • Regular planning to celebrate national and international days.
  • Encouraging children to read and use library resources effectively
  • Traveling to prison under the cover of planning psychotherapy programs for imprisoned mothers
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, social science /Clinical Psychology will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • The ability to recognize his own limitations and respond to difficult situations;
  • The ability to apply his knowledge of academic psychology and research to clinical problems;
  • The  capacity  to  be  critical  and  analytical  and  to  work  in  a  self-motivated, independent way;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal with people in distress;
  • The ability to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines;
  • A strong understanding of the profession and the role of a psychologist,
  • Empathy and a person-centered approach to clients;
