About Medical Management and Research Courses for Afghanistan (MMRCA):

The Medical Management and Research Courses for Afghanistan (MMRCA) is a national, non-for profit, non-political, humanitarian organization established in March 2008 by Afghan Health Professionals and is registered as an NGO with the ministry of economy (MoE) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

MMRCA has been implemented SEHAT-II, SEHAT-III and SEHATMANDI (BPHS+EPHS) Projects in Ghazni, Badghis and Faryab provinces. Currently MMRCA has been awarded the Health Emergency Response Projects Badghis, Samangan and Sar- e-Pul since 1st February 2023 and will continue until 29st Feb2024 for Badghis province and until 31th March 2025 for Samangan and Sar-e-Pol provinces.

Through HER Sar-e-Pul project MMRCA has been providing quality health services to the entire population of the province according to BPHS and EPHS guidelines and MoPH policies/ strategies. These services are providing through 3-DHs, 9 CHCs, 20 BHCs, 32 PHCs, one MHT, 5 FHHs and one Prison Health Center. Similarly, HER Samangan has a total of 47 HFs including 3 DHs, 4 CHCs, 14 BHCs, 21 Sub-centers, 1MHT, one prison health center,

MMRCA invites and encourage eligible candidates to apply for the position of Nutrition officer located at Sar-e-Pol provincial office and required travels to districts and HFs.

Job Descriptions:

  • Responsible to overall nutrition activities at project/provincial level.
  • Assist staff in order to implement the national nutrition guideline in nutrition services at the HFs.
  • Ensure that all HFs have enough nutrition related tools like Scale, Hight measuring table, MUAC tap, registers, reporting format and patients’ cards are available.
  • Close follow up from regular supply of RUTF to the HFs and ensure that all HFs have enough RUTF in its stock.
  • Collection of monthly reports from HFs and do data entry in required nutrition database.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly base request form and share with UNICEF colleagues.
  • Attend the nutrition cluster meeting as regular that should be conducted at regional level.
  • Conduct training (Initial/Refresher) to the nutrition’s consolers based before prepared plan. 
  • To be ensured that each HF under his/her supervisory list is visited at least once per month including supervision from one HP as need base.
  • Close coordination with PNO, nutrition extenders and office staff for better project implementation.
  • Ensure that all nutrition commodities (milk and RUTF) are safe and must be not miss used by the responsible staff.
  • To closely monitor the performance of project key indicators versus set targets on monthly basis and makes sure effective action plans are developed to achieve project targets both at provincial office and HF level;
  • To ensure that nutrition services are provided based nutrition guideline and enrolled all beneficiaries based standard criteria.
  • Follow up of visit finding/feed back that conducted by PPHD, MoPH, PND, UNICEF and other.
  • To perform any other official task assigned by line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Having MD degree from recognize university.
  • Three years’ experience in the relevant portion.
  • Be proactive and take initiatives and work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle tasks simultaneously, and to work under pressure.
  • Familiars with Dari, Pashto and necessary English Languages.
