About ASOW:

Afghan Social Organization for Women (ASOW) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political Afghan national organization established and registered with the Ministry of Economy in 2020. ASOW works for the development of Afghan society, especially women and children through providing education services, arranging capacity-building programs, imparting vocational skills training, ensuring food security, and emergency relief assistance in times of natural or man-made calamities. ASOW aims to improve the socio-economic condition of women throughout the country by providing necessary assistance and designing programs that will equip them with the right skills to take an active part in the development of society.

Job Descriptions:

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Distribution

  • Oversee assistance distribution to ensure alignment with donor and ASOW standards, including observing procedures and verifying beneficiary eligibility.
  • Conduct spot checks during distribution to ensure fairness and address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure distribution centers are prepared for smooth and organized aid delivery.

Beneficiary Engagement

  • Verify beneficiaries at distribution points and provide accurate information regarding assistance.
  • Educate beneficiaries on their rights, responsibilities, and any changes in schedules or procedures.

Data Collection and Reporting

  • Collect data on distribution activities, including the number of beneficiaries served, issues encountered, and feedback received.
  • Provide regular reports to the M&E Manager and donor, summarizing activities, findings, progress, and challenges.
  • Document complaints and issues raised, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution.
  • Maintain organized records, ensuring data is kept secure and confidential.

Compliance and Coordination

  • Ensure all distribution activities adhere to safeguarding principles, promoting a safe and respectful environment for beneficiaries and staff.
  • Report irregularities or issues to the M&E Manager for corrective action.
  • Coordinate with community representatives and stakeholders to ensure efficient engagement.
  • Work closely with field teams to align monitoring activities with project objectives.

Additional Duties

  • Support the M&E Manager in conducting assessments, evaluations, and other monitoring activities.
  • Assist in training new field staff and community volunteers on procedures and safeguarding principles.

Job Requirements:

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian or community support projects, preferably in a monitoring role.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, community development, or project management.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Excellent observational and reporting skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in challenging field settings.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, including remote locations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
