Job Summary:

Rana University seeks a dynamic, creative, and talented Library Manager professional to join its Capital Solutions team based in Kabul. You will work with a team of specialists to design, implement,t and evaluate a wide range of staffing and workforce projects. Specifically, the assignment will involve developing the library system, liaising with employers and clients, and designing innovative Library tools and resources. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, so adaptability, flexibility, experience, and creative thinking are highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating and leading the Library of Rana University.
  • Handle the performance of developing library system.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
  • Selects evaluates, and organizes library materials of various types, including books, CDs, periodicals, and documents.
  • Review and improvement of the library's administrative processes.
  • Liaison with national/ international library management.
  • Reviews and recommends library materials for conversion to electronic format.
  • Analyzes, implements, and evaluates standards and procedures for library programs and services.
  • Promote the role of the library and the range of resources students can access through the library, to support inquiry and develop information literacy across all year levels and all curriculum areas.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan inquiry units and identify appropriate resourcing and scaffolding to support student's research.
  • Plan and implement the library orientation program.
  • Establish and monitor day-to-day systems and workflows in the library.

 

Job Requirements:

Qualifications required:

  1. Education: At least a Bachelor's degree with specialization in any of the following majors from a recognized university/institute.’
  • Business Administration
  • Social Science

2. Attested, original qualification documents including Bachelor's degree are required
3. Experience: 1 - 3 years’ experience in Library Management. 
4. Language Skills: Fluent oral, written, and comprehensive skills in English and knowing Dari & Pashto would be an asset.
5. Personal qualification: Must be a hard worker and honest having strong teaching skills & knowledge.
