Position Summary

The Wool Spinning Trainer will take a hands-on approach in delivering comprehensive training programs focused on traditional and contemporary wool spinning techniques. This role is crucial for imparting skills to beneficiaries, empowering them to produce high-quality wool yarns while contributing to their personal and economic development. The trainer will create an encouraging learning environment and facilitate the development of practical skills that will increase the beneficiaries' marketability and self-reliance.

  • Develop and implement a culturally relevant wool spinning curriculum from beginner to advanced levels, aligned with market trends.
  • Conduct practical training on weaving, finishing, cutting, and quality control to build participants’ independent production skills.
  • Assess trainees’ progress regularly, offering constructive feedback, mentorship, and encouragement.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are available and train participants on their proper use and maintenance.
  • Create a supportive learning environment that promotes collaboration and peer learning.
  • Collaborate with local artisans to integrate traditional practices and encourage knowledge exchange.
  • Organize exhibitions to showcase trainees’ work and guide them in marketing strategies.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and evaluations, and provide regular reports to management with recommendations.
  • Coordination and close work with Other parts of the industry in the center, such as carpet weaving, processing, finishing, cutting, and marketing.

Job Requirements:

  • Have graduated from School and have a relevant diploma or degree in Wool spinning, Weaving, or a related field. Additional certifications in teaching or vocational training are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in wool spinning or related Carpet arts. Previous experience in training or teaching preferred, particularly in a vocational or community-based setting.
  • Profound knowledge of traditional and contemporary wool spinning techniques, patterns, and materials.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering effective training programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with different groups, including women, men, and community members.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage training sessions, resources, and schedules effectively. Ability to monitor and evaluate participant progress efficiently.
