About AWEC:

AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Job Descriptions:

Main duties and responsibilities:  (Couple) Male & Female in both province.

  • Community Mobilizer is required to work according to the plan and instructions of the program
  • Organize coordination meetings between local communities and relevant department authorities.
  • Participate in the training session organized by the organization regarding capacity building
  • Ensure effective community mobilization
  • Support M&E officer while visiting the field and provide the required information
  • Conduct survey in targeted districts and villages if requested
  • Establish working relationships with communities and local government office in the project target areas as per instructions of the project officer
  • Coordinate project activities with target communities
  • Conduct awareness sessions with the local community in coordination with the Project officer
  • Coordinate with relevant government departments at the local level to facilitate the administrative processes
  • Facilitate meetings of project staff with local government authorities and community people
  • Ensure field feedback of beneficiaries
  • Organize meetings with local leaders, beneficiaries and collect their feedback and share the report with the project officer
  • Work with a cooperative attitude and keep a high standard of working quality
  • Generate timely reports on all her/his relevant activities

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Social science, administration or Climate Change, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Fluent in speaking and writing Pashto and Dari languages
  • Understanding language will be an advantage
  • Computer literate
  • Honest, Motivated, tolerant, active and well-mannered
  • Strong networking, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in unstable insecurity environments and tight schedules
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements
