Context:

 

Under the overall supervision of the Shelter and Non-Food Items (SNFI) Programme Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Senior Network and Systems Associate and technical supervision of head of information management (IM) the Project Associate will support the SNFI programme through information management and reporting SNFI interventions as per the below listed responsibilities.

Job Descriptions:

  1. Assist in implementing information management tools and systems related to the Shelter and Non-Food Items (SNFI) program, focusing on data-driven visualizations.
  2. Support the design and development of visualized, interactive, and static dashboards to effectively communicate key metrics for the SNFI program.
  3. Assist in reporting IOM-assisted beneficiary figures internally and externally, utilizing visualization tools to present data clearly.
  4. Assist in creating comprehensive summary reports that elaborate on the information presented, ensuring clarity and relevance.
  5. Provide technical support in data cleansing to enhance the accuracy and integrity of SNFI data used for visualization.
  6. Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving software applications that support SNFI information management.
  7. Collaborate with team members to ensure data quality and usefulness for reporting and analysis purposes.
  8. Contribute to review and update technical guidelines, user manuals, and training materials for effective use of visualization tools.
  9. Assist in maintaining consistency of IOM visual guidelines in all SNFI information management products.
  10. Perform other duties as required by the program, contributing to the overall success of information management initiatives.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related fields with two years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, visualization, mapping and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and creating interactive reports.

  • High School diploma with four years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, visualization, mapping and reporting.

 

 

Experience

 

  • Demonstrative experience in Microsoft SQL Server (development) for database management and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with Tableau for comprehensive data visualization and dashboard creation.
  • Experience R or Python statistical programming for statistical analysis and data visualization purposes is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of ArcGIS for geospatial data analysis and mapping.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator for creating visual content and reports.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop for graphic design and image editing.
  • Previous experience working in humanitarian or development contexts is an advantage

 

 

SKILLS

 

  • Microsoft SQL Server,
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Expertise in advanced Excel functions, including data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Excellent data visualization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present data findings and technical information to diverse audiences.

 

 

Languages

 

  • For all Applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.
  • Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
