About Water Aid for Afghanistan (WAFA):

The Water Aid for Afghanistan (WAFA) is a national non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, and humanitarian organization working in Afghanistan since 1994. The organization was initially registered as NGO with the Ministry of Planning and further registered in February 2006 with Ministry of Economy at NGO Department of the former Islamic Republic of Afghanistan under registration number 377.

The organization is professionally managed by a group of committed and young professional Afghans having multiple years of experience with governmental and non-governmental organization in Afghanistan and abroad.

Beside, WAFA works in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. WAFA also has close relation with the Ministry of Justice to empower and facilitate the street children in the light of the applicable laws and procedures. WAFA has extensive experience with IDP’s and returnees by providing them basic education, WASH facilities, hygiene education, Livelihood and health facilities with collaboration of Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation. 

The Organization has a regional coverage through undertaking various Educational (Community Based Education (CBE), Teacher Training, Formal and informal, accelerated learnings, Civic Education,  Awareness Raising (Legal Rights, Advocacy, Women Rights, Child Protection, Support to Electoral Process, Elimination of violation against women, Human Rights, Social Services programs, Water and agricultural programs, Universities Electricity Installation and upgradation, Projects in different sectors for Afghan Refugees/Returnees and local communities in Afghanistan

Job Descriptions:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and designing data collection and survey system.
  2. Ensuring smooth flow of information between field office and Main Office.
  3. Evolving effective reporting system with Main Office.
  4. Field visits to monitor and evaluate project ongoing activities.
  5. Field visits and mission reports preparation and submission to the program unit
  6. Maintain filing system and record keeping.
  7. Complete familiarity with all M&E popular software’s and special command over KOBO
  8. Record all the data in KOBO Software
  9. Ensure smooth operation of M&E activities with the project area.
  10. Developing a systematic information system.
  11. Documenting all official activities in the field office.
  12. Identify and disseminate M&E resources and provide technical assistance to Trainers/Community mobilizers on MEAL related issues and questions, as practical and according to areas of expertise.
  13. Conduct and/or support data gathering on all Training activities, ensure that data is accurate and okay for the final submission.
  14. Monitor all activities, including visiting project sites, comparing planned versus actual program results and reporting findings.
  15. As requested, assist in planning for, facilitate and/or participate fully in relevant coordination meetings and ad hoc working groups;
  16. Participate in promoting the exchange of MEAL information and expertise across the project target area.
  17. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager/Line Supervisor

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and experience

  • BA in the relevant filed required, but University Degree is preferred
  • Professional knowledge of MEAL system.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience with NGOs, with at least one year in M&E. 
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative research and data analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of  KOBO software
  • Advance English writing, speaking and comprehension skills.
  • Fluency in, Pashto, Dari and English (writing, speaking and comprehension).
  • Good computer skills to include Internet, Word, Excel, Access.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to work under pressure or sometimes with tough deadlines and late hours
  • Professionalism in appearance and demeanor
