Job Summary
The Driller is responsible for performing safe and efficient drilling operations, controlling drilling equipment, and monitoring operational parameters such as pressure and flow. They collect rock and fluid samples, interpret drilling data, and quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during drilling. The role requires proficiency in modern drilling methods, teamwork, meticulous record-keeping, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Able to perform drilling operations uninterrupted, safe and efficient manner as per the drilling program.
2. Carry out the drilling operations in the field, handle and control the drilling operations and equipment’s to create oil or natural gas wells.
3. Must have Proficiency in modern drilling methods used in the petroleum industry, such as rotary drilling, directional drilling and horizontal drilling.
4. Perform the actual drilling operations, control the drilling rig to control the speed, direction and pressure of drilling.
5. Ability to handle and control drilling equipment such as drill rig, drill rods, drill bits, drill motors and pumps.
6. Preparation of DDR (Daily Drilling Report), look ahead planner and chemical tracking.
7. Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks on drilling equipment, detect technical problems and perform minor repairs when necessary.
8. Collects samples of rocks and fluids during drilling, used by geologists and engineers to assess reservoir characteristics and the presence of oil or gas.
9. Continuously monitors drilling parameters such as well pressure, drilling mud flow and downhole parameters, then transfer this information to the supervision team to make appropriate operational decisions.
10. Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during drilling operations, such as equipment problems, drilling mud leaks, or well instabilities.
11. Solve various technical problems during drilling, such as jamming of the drilling tool, loss of mud or instabilities of the well walls. And must be able to diagnose and solve these problems quickly and efficiently.
12. Ability to interpret drilling data, such as drilling parameter records, rock samples and geological data, to evaluate well performance and provide useful information to other team members.
13. Work closely with other members of the drilling team, including drilling engineers, geologists and supervisors, to ensure effective coordination of operations.
14. Maintains detailed records of drilling operations, including drilling parameter records, reports of incidents or problems encountered, and safety and compliance information.
15. Ensures that safety procedures are followed, including the proper use of safety equipment, regulations and standards.
16. Familiar with environmental safety and health regulations governing oil drilling operations, and ability to apply them in daily activities.
1- Candidates with a Bachelors or higher degree is preferred.
2- Candidates must have at least 5 years of working Experience as Driller.
3- Must have Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4- Strong communication and teamwork skills, and an understanding of drilling and extraction techniques.
5- Must have hands-on experience in fieldwork and data analysis.
