Job Summary
The Drilling Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing drilling operations, collaborating with geologists, and ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective well development. The role includes supervising drilling rigs, managing budgets, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards. Candidates should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on field experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan and execute drilling programs, selecting appropriate techniques, equipment, and technologies
2. Conduct geological assessments in collaboration with geologists to optimize well placement.
3. Have strong knowledge and hands-on experience with advanced technologies used in drilling operations.
4. Provide full time engineering support to assigned drilling rig(s), monitor drilling performance, implementing adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
5. Oversee drilling budget preparation and ensure adherence to financial targets.
6. Manage cross-functional teams and coordinate activities between drilling, production, and service companies.
7. Evaluate well data and prepare reports to support decision-making processes
8. Arrange completion operation (Design and execute).
9. Used advanced methods and tools to reduce mud losses, to reduce costs and made the well more stable.
10. Prepares Final Well Reports and ensure AAR (After Action Review) are completed for each well.
11. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drilling personnel.
12. Ensure HSE compliance throughout the drilling process.
1- Candidates with a master’s degree or higher in Drilling is preferred.
2- Candidates must have at least 5 years of working Experience as a drilling Engineer.
3- Must have Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4- Strong communication and teamwork skills, and an understanding of drilling and extraction techniques.
5- Must have hands-on experience in fieldwork and data analysis.
