Job Summary:
Under the CRLP project, the Lead Social Organizer/WEA Triner is responsible for driving the project activities forward through community-based initiatives. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Lead Social Organizer contributes to building strong community partnerships, promoting meaningful participation, fostering social change, and ensuring the sustainability of the project within the communities.
The position is based in Kabul with frequent travels to Balkh, Jawzjan, Saripul, Ghor and Faryab provinces where the project is being implemented.
Main Responsibilities:
- Capacity Building:
- Responsible for delivering successful training and coaching in accordance with the project Operation Manual, step by step guidelines to the Social Organizers SOs using participatory tools and techniques.
- Lead the development and implementation of community engagement strategies to promote participation, inclusion, and empowerment of community members in project activities.
- Plan and conduct training sessions for SOs on project interventions, building their capacity to cascade training to targeted communities.
- Conduct or ensure the delivery of awareness and relevant training sessions with communities and Community Representatives Groups (CRG).
- Oversee and support the planning, organization, implementation, and follow-up of project activities through provincial social organizers.
- Ensure community profiles are updated with communities and followed up by provincial social organizers.
- Ensure timely completion and reporting of community beneficiary lists. Facilitate the establishment of distribution committees.
- Facilitate procurement activities. Inform the CRGs upon disbursement and receipt of funds in their bank accounts.
- Ensure transparency and accountability at the community level. Support the CRGs and their procurement sub-committees on the procurement process, ensuring completion and proper documentation of all procedures and records.
- Collect social and awareness raising data from the field and share it with the Package Manger for reporting.
- Facilitate participatory planning processes that involve community members in decision-making, priority setting, and project design.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact of social mobilization activities on community participation, behavior change, and project outcomes.
- Facilitate and assist the internal and external monitoring/Evaluation teams to conduct monitoring of the project activities
- Keeping track of project progress and outcomes and reporting to senior management and donors.
- Ensure the communities are engaged in monitoring the project activities.
- Conduct field visits according to approved plan to monitor and evaluate the field activities and support field team.
- Report to the CRLP Package Manger, Director/Deputy Director on a daily and weekly basis on community issues and the project’s performance in relation to those issues.
- Gender and Social Inclusion:
- Ensure that social mobilization efforts are gender-responsive and promote the inclusion of marginalized groups, such as women, youth, persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities.
- Conflict Sensitivity:
- Integrate conflict-sensitive approaches into social mobilization activities to mitigate potential conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence within communities.
- Innovation and Learning:
- Promote innovation and learning within social mobilization approaches, incorporating best practices and adaptive management principles into community engagement strategies.
