Job Descriptions:

The MYC coordinator is responsible for the overall management and coordination of MYC as well as for achieving the set objectives. S/he will work to build and maintain strong local networks committed to improving the lives of young people, will promote volunteerism, help to identify young survivors of violence, and also support vulnerable young people through livelihood and business development programs.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall management and operations of the MYC.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities at the MYC, ensuring that programs meet goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to project planning, evaluation, and data collection.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with young people, key programs, and community stakeholders.
  • Create a safe space for young people to explore their values and identities.
  • Conduct staff meetings and provide effective guidance to staff.
  • Participate in project staff meetings and ensure effective communication.
  • Provide mental health, and psychosocial, life skills, youth education etc. services by full-time qualified staff to youth and adolescents.
  • Identify the youth networks, building their capacity on different topics and coordinate with youth network.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and submit them to the Project Manager.
  • Whenever assigned by Senior Management staff, conduct national level coordination with stakeholders.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the project manager within the general scope of the described responsibilities or of the project.

Job Requirements:

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, Social Work, Education, or any equivalent degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with adolescents and youths.
  • Master’s degree will be considered a plus point.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with adolescents and youths.
  • Capacity to work with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Capacity to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong ability to work independently.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills including reporting and writing.
  • Good knowledge of community development especially working with children, women and families.
  • Excellent problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meeting of deadlines.
  • Culture sensitive and respect for local norms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of the cases.
  • Willingness to travel and stay in remote areas and inhospitable environment.
